Lassú sergő
/ Széles víz a Duna. /
Keskeny palló ra jta.
/ Ne menj arra, rózsám /
mert beesel róla .

The Danube is a wide river.
A narrow plank is upon it.
Don’t go that way, my sweetheart,
because you’ll fall o it.
